This cookbook is filled with nearly 500 recipes from our members, families and friends; many of whom are long-time residents of the Pajaro Valley, some for multiple generations in this area.  It was a labor of love and proceeds from the sale of these cookbooks help fund our scholarships and our community service projects.

Cooking with the freshest ingredients, Soroptimists are well known for their hospitality and good food. The cookbook’s collection of recipes includes traditional recipes that range from simple to complex.  There are recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation, as well as “family favorites” and “New California cuisine.”

Soroptimist International, founded in 1921 in Oakland, California, has grown to be the largest classified women’s organization in the world.  There are more than 3,000 clubs with 80,000 members in over 130 countries.   Soroptimist International of Watsonville was chartered in November, 1928 and is celebrating 88 years of service to the community.  Watsonville Soroptimists reflect a variety of diverse cultures, including Japanese, Croatian, Latino, and Portuguese whose culinary talents reflect the richness of our valley’s agriculture.

Come for cocktails and stay for dinner with Soroptimists and friends.  We have shared our best for you to enjoy. Proceeds from our cookbook help fund scholarships and community service projects.
